Aditya Sahu Is Sole Nominee for Jharkhand BJP President With Decision Due Jan. 14

Party leaders say the unopposed run caps a year-long internal election process in the state.

Only one nomination was filed for the state president post by Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu after the Jan. 13 noon–2 p.m. window closed, the election officer Jual Oram said.
Scrutiny of papers is slated by 3 p.m. with withdrawals by 5 p.m. on Jan. 13, and the formal announcement is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Jan. 14 at Carnival Hall on Harmu Road in Ranchi.
A vote on Jan. 14 will not be required since no rival nomination was received for the top post.
Twenty-one nominations were submitted for National Council positions from Jharkhand, including filings by Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, Madhu Kora, Champai Soren, Sanjay Seth, Karia Munda, Deepak Prakash and Annapurna Devi.
Sahu has been serving as the working president since Oct. 3 and is positioned to succeed Babulal Marandi as the state unit chief.
