AdHoc Wrote a Full Season of The Wolf Among Us 2 Before Leaving the Stalled Project

The ex-Telltale team is launching Dispatch in October, then targeting a full Critical Role game.

Overview

  • AdHoc Studio, founded by former Telltale developers, says it worked on The Wolf Among Us 2 for about two years and authored a complete Season Two.
  • Co-founder Nick Herman says the team halted work when Telltale needed more time, noting AdHoc was not running the project and shifted focus to keep the studio operating.
  • AdHoc does not know how much of its script or production work will appear in any eventual version of the game.
  • The Wolf Among Us 2 has repeatedly started and stopped since its 2017 announcement, vanishing after Telltale’s 2018 closure and again in 2023, with no clear new timeline from Telltale.
  • AdHoc’s new game Dispatch will release eight episodes in rapid succession starting 22 October 2025, features a Telltale-like choice-driven format with actors Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey, and will be followed by a planned full game set in Critical Role’s Exandria.
