Overview
- The inaugural Durga Puja Adani Preview will open eight jury‑selected puja installations to the public on Oct. 10–12 and will run from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night.
- A four‑member independent jury — Paresh Maity, Harshavardhan Neotia, Abin Chaudhuri and Mudar Patherya — assessed more than 70 entries and selected the eight pujas, with organisers saying Adani played no role in the choices.
- Selected puja committees and artists include Anirban Das (Alipore Sarbojanin), Bhabatosh Sutar (Yuba Sangha), Debasis Barui (Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha), Eshika Chandra and Deep Das (Barisha Club), Pradip Das (Behala Club Sarbojonin), Purnendu Dey (Rajdanga Amra Kayjan Kalyan Samity), Raju Sarkar (Thakurpukur State Bank Park Sarbojanin) and Sanatan Dinda (Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojanin).
- Registrations are open at durgapujaadani.in with more than 30,000 people already signed up; entry is free with a Preview Pass and access will be managed on a capacity basis.
- Organisers present the Preview as a way to spotlight the ideas, techniques and labour behind Kolkata’s pujas, to give less‑crowded access for local and visiting audiences, and to encourage deeper engagement with the festival’s artistic traditions.
