Adam Mossoff Resigns From Heritage as Carlson–Fuentes Backlash Intensifies

The law professor says Kevin Roberts never retracted his Oct. 30 defense of Tucker Carlson, signaling continuing departures.

Adam Mossoff, a George Mason law professor and visiting fellow since 2019, resigned Thursday from Heritage’s Meese Center, citing Kevin Roberts’ Oct. 30 video and subsequent comments.
In his resignation email, Mossoff called Roberts’ stance a failure of moral leadership and noted the video defending Carlson from a “venomous coalition” remains on X with more than 24 million views.
Roberts told staff last week he made a mistake but has not withdrawn the video or disavowed Carlson, whom he has described as a close friend of the organization.
A Heritage spokesperson thanked Mossoff for his work and said the think tank remains focused on its policy priorities.
The move extends broader fallout that includes the National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism cutting ties and departures by figures such as Michele Bachmann, Stephen Moore, and Chris DeMuth over Heritage’s response.
