Overview
- The ADAC inspected 20 Park-and-Ride sites from March to May 2025 and found seven fully occupied and another seven over 90 percent capacity during weekday mornings.
- Of the 4,594 total spaces evaluated, many are undersized and only 12 facilities offer barrier-free access to platforms while three lack designated spots for disabled drivers.
- Free parking bays are often blocked by non-commuters, including rental vehicles and unhitched trailers, reducing availability for daily travelers.
- Several lots suffer from inadequate lighting, unclear layouts and footpaths exceeding 180 meters from transit stops, compromising safety and convenience.
- The ADAC urged local authorities to enforce maximum parking durations, introduce usage controls and expand site infrastructure to improve commuter confidence.
