Overview
- ADAC delegates approved higher membership fees in May 2026 that will affect about 22.7 million members.
- Single-member tariffs will rise by €10 to €35 per year while the premium family/person-with-partner-and-children tariff increases by €55 from €239 to €294.
- The planned 1 January 2027 start will not happen because the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern has not issued the required binding ruling, so ADAC expects to implement the change during the first half of 2027 and will notify members three months before billing.
- Planned additional services, including around-the-clock legal advice for traffic accidents, will begin in January 2027 as scheduled even though the fee increase is delayed.
- The decision follows a turbulent year for ADAC that included the February resignation of traffic president Gerhard Hillebrand and about 60,000 membership cancellations, which helps explain the club's emphasis on covering rising costs for roadside assistance and rescue operations and on communicating changes to members.
