Overview

  • Ada Valley Meat Company initiated a voluntary recall on July 29 for about 1,065 pounds of fully cooked frozen ground beef after a Michigan customer found metal pieces in the product.
  • The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has labeled the recall Class I, indicating a reasonable probability of serious health consequences.
  • Affected products bear establishment number “EST. 10031,” pack dates May 28 and May 30, 2025, and lot codes 35156 and 35157, shipped to retailers and distributors in California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
  • No injuries have been reported to date, but institutions holding the ground beef are urged not to serve it and to discard or return it to the place of purchase.
  • Investigations continue and FSIS has warned that additional items or lot codes could be added as the recall scope expands.
