Acura Ends ZDX EV Production, Shifting Focus to In‑House RSX

The move signals a turn to an Ohio-built RSX in 2026.

Overview

  • The Ultium-based ZDX, assembled by GM in Spring Hill, Tennessee, will not get a 2026 model year after Honda canceled all future production, company spokespeople confirmed.
  • Honda attributed the decision to market conditions as it pivots resources to the Acura RSX, which is scheduled to begin production at the company’s Ohio EV Hub in the second half of 2026.
  • The Honda Prologue, also built by GM in Mexico, will continue in production, the companies said.
  • GM told Spring Hill workers that employment plans remain unchanged, with added engine output and gas Chevrolet Blazer production planned for 2027.
  • Acura reports roughly 19,000 ZDXs sold since launch; dealers moved inventory with large incentives reported at about $21,000–$30,000 off, and the brand says owners will receive full service, parts, and warranty support.
