Actor Heinz Hoenig Plans to Continue Filmmaking Despite Health Struggles

Heinz Hoenig, 73, expressed his determination to pursue acting until the age of 130, stating he feels his career is far from over.
Earlier this year, Hoenig faced severe health challenges, including heart problems that led to a medically induced coma and subsequent esophageal surgery.
Due to a lack of health insurance, his management launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover mounting medical expenses, with additional surgeries still anticipated.
Hoenig is widely recognized for his roles in the 1981 film 'Das Boot' and 1990s television series by director Dieter Wedel, such as 'Der Schattenmann' and 'Der König von St. Pauli.'
The actor resides in Blankenburg, Germany, with his wife and two young children, and recently appeared in the 2024 season of the RTL reality show 'Dschungelcamp.'
