Activision Touts Fast Ricochet Bans in Black Ops 7 Beta as Test Extended to Oct. 9

Activision credits deeper system checks for early gains, facing calls for clearer data.

Overview

  • Team Ricochet reports that in the beta’s first two days, 97% of detected cheaters were banned within 30 minutes and fewer than 1% reached a match before being removed within minutes.
  • Activision says strengthened TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot checks underpin the results and acknowledges the PC requirements can feel disruptive for some players.
  • Beyond in-game bans, Activision claims it has helped shut down more than 40 cheat developers and resellers since Black Ops 6, with some vendors labeling their tools unusable.
  • Treyarch extended the open beta to Thursday, October 9 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET, added the 6v6 map Toshin, kept double XP active, and raised the level cap to 30.
  • Press and players report fewer obvious cheaters but question the lack of raw figures behind Activision’s percentages and flag isolated complaints such as alleged shadowbans.
