Activision Cancels Carry Forward for Black Ops 7, Leaving Black Ops 6 Skins and Weapons Behind

Activision says the shift is to restore a more grounded Black Ops identity.

Overview

  • Operators, operator skins, and weapons from Black Ops 6 will not transfer to Black Ops 7, with only Double XP tokens and Zombies GobbleGums carrying over.
  • The move responds to community feedback that Call of Duty has "drifted" from its immersive, grounded identity, according to an official update.
  • This is a rapid reversal roughly a week after Activision initially said Carry Forward would return for Black Ops 7 following its Gamescom reveal.
  • Warzone is not affected by the change, and all Black Ops 6 content remains usable in the battle royale.
  • Treyarch says Black Ops 7 bundles will be crafted to fit the franchise identity, with more details promised before the October beta and the November 14 launch.
