Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick Steps Down Following Microsoft Acquisition

Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard, has announced his departure from the company, effective December 29, 2023.
Kotick's exit follows Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, which was finalized in October 2023.
Kotick has been with Activision Blizzard for over three decades, during which he led the company to become one of the largest third-party publishers of games.
Under Kotick's leadership, Activision Blizzard faced a lawsuit alleging widespread discrimination and sexual harassment, which was settled for $54 million with the California Civil Rights Department.
Phil Spencer, head of games at Microsoft, thanked Kotick for his contributions to the industry and confirmed that most executives at Activision Blizzard will remain in place.
