Active-Duty Air Force Officer Madison Marsh Crowned Miss America 2024
Marsh, a Harvard student and philanthropist, makes history as the first active-duty military service member to win the title.
- Madison Marsh, a 22-year-old second lieutenant in the US Air Force and a master’s student at the Harvard Kennedy School’s public policy program, has been crowned Miss America 2024.
- Marsh, representing the state of Colorado, is the first active-duty Air Force officer ever to receive the national title.
- Marsh is also the co-founder of the Whitney Marsh Foundation, which she started with her family in honor of her mother, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2018. The foundation has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for cancer research.
- Marsh graduated from the Air Force Academy last year with a degree in physics and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.
- As Miss America, Marsh will be offered a scholarship award of $60,000 and the opportunity to travel the nation as the brand’s ambassador.
