AccuWeather, MS NOW Seal Multi-Year Deal for Forecasts on Morning Joe and Squawk Box
The pact expands MS NOW's weather coverage ahead of its Nov. 15 rebrand.
Overview
- AccuWeather will provide forecasts and data across MS NOW and other Versant operations in a multi-year agreement that also covers CNBC.
- Daily weather segments using AccuWeather content will run on Morning Joe and Squawk Box, extending the provider's reach across flagship programs.
- MS NOW hired David Parkinson as senior weather and elections data analyst from CBS News and Moses Small as a climate reporter from Scripps’ KGTV in San Diego.
- Parkinson and Small will work with AccuWeather meteorologists to deliver forecasts across Versant networks, supported by tailored graphics and access to AccuWeather’s video and editorial feeds.
- The deal complements MS NOW’s buildout of its own newsgathering operation, follows a recent alliance with Sky News, and comes as Versant prepares to spin out of NBCUniversal.
