Accomplice Arrested in Teen Murder Suspect's Escape

Shane Pryor, on trial for a 2020 murder, remains at large after escaping from hospital transport.

  • 17-year-old murder suspect Shane Pryor escaped from custody while being transported to a hospital for a hand injury. He was last seen entering and exiting buildings in the area before being picked up by a cream-colored Ford.
  • Police have arrested 18-year-old Michael Diggs, who is believed to have picked up Pryor after his escape. Diggs has been charged with hindering apprehension, escape, use of communication facility, and criminal conspiracy in connection with Pryor's escape.
  • Pryor was in custody for the 2020 fatal shooting of Tanya Harris. He was 14 at the time of the shooting and was to be tried as an adult.
  • The U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Pryor's arrest.
  • Pryor's defense attorney, Paul DiMaio, suggests the decision to try Pryor as an adult may have motivated his escape.
