Acclaimed British Director David Leland Dies at 82

Renowned for 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Band of Brothers', Leland's influential career spanned over five decades.

David Leland, the renowned British director, writer, and actor, passed away at the age of 82 on Christmas Eve.
Leland was best known for directing the popular 1980s hit 'Wish You Were Here' and writing on acclaimed British films including 'Made in Britain', 'Mona Lisa' and 'Personal Services'.
He also directed an Emmy-winning episode of HBO’s 'Band of Brothers' and was both a director and writer for 'The Borgias'.
Leland was a close friend of George Harrison and directed the Grammy-winning documentary 'Concert for George', a memorial concert for the late Beatle.
He is survived by his wife, Sabrina, his four daughters, his son and his six grandchildren.
