Overview

• Rajit Punhani was appointed CEO of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India, and Debashree Mukherjee moved to head the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
• Piyush Goyal was named Secretary of the Ministry of Mines as V. L. Kantha Rao shifted to lead Water Resources under Jal Shakti.
• Atish Chandra was elevated within the Prime Minister’s Office to the rank of Special Secretary.
• Succession plans were formalized with OSD roles, including Vijay Kumar set to take charge as Ports, Shipping & Waterways Secretary on September 30 after T. K. Ramachandran retires, and Niraj Verma slated to become Justice Secretary after August 31.
