ACB Traps Telangana Village Official Over Rs 15,000 Bribe in Land Registration

• The ACB Khammam Range apprehended the official at the Mulakalapalli tahsildar office in Bhadradri Kothagudem while he accepted Rs 15,000.
• Officials said the bribe related to registering 2.30 acres in Vemukunta and issuing a pattadar passbook after an initial demand of Rs 60,000.
• The complainant had earlier paid Rs 30,000 via PhonePe and Rs 10,000 in cash, creating a documented trail cited by investigators.
• The tainted cash was recovered, the accused was arrested, and he is to be produced before the Special Judge for ACB and SPE cases in Warangal.
• ACB DSP Y Ramesh said an inquiry is underway into potential involvement of higher officials, and local reports say this is the first GPO caught since the posts were revived in September.
