ACB Trap in Yellandu Nets Deputy Tahsildar, Two Others in ₹30,000 Bribery Case

ACB says the trio sought ₹30,000 to avoid an adverse stock report against a ration shop.

Overview

  • The Khammam range of the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted the trap on November 17 in Yellandu, Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
  • Those arrested are deputy tahsildar Mohammed Yakoob Pasha, EPASS technical assistant Vijay Kumar, and ration dealers’ mandal president Pothu Shabareesh.
  • Investigators allege the demand was routed through Shabareesh to spare the shop from a closure order during working hours.
  • The tainted cash was recovered from Shabareesh’s possession, and all three were produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal.
  • The probe is ongoing, the complainant’s identity has been withheld for security, and the ACB urged citizens to report bribe demands via toll-free 1064 or its official social media channels.
