  • The irregularities were first flagged in an internal vigilance inquiry, leading to an FIR in March under section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
  • Investigators found that no civil work was executed on paper projects in Siraspur and Burari despite full disbursement of funds.
  • Fraudulent performance bank guarantees worth ₹2.24 crore were submitted by the contractor and accepted by the department without proper verification.
  • The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code, and the probe remains ongoing with further suspects expected to be identified.
