Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Splits Animation and Short Film Branches

In a move to better represent the growing communities, the Academy creates separate branches for animation and short films, effective in the 2024-25 fiscal year.

• The Animation Branch will represent about 700 members and oversee animated feature and short film awards, with two governor representatives.
