ACA Opens One of India’s Largest Indoor Cricket Facilities

The 17,000 sq ft complex centralizes Uniturf wickets, fitness, recovery plus physiotherapy to enable year-round training.

Overview

  • The facility was officially opened by BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia on Friday, September 11, 2026, in a ceremony attended by Assam Cricket Association officials.
  • The indoor complex covers about 17,000 square feet and houses nine practice wickets configured as four spin wickets and five seam wickets.
  • All wickets use imported Uniturf playing surfaces so players can train under varied simulated conditions regardless of weather.
  • On-site athlete support includes separate men’s and women’s changing rooms with ice baths, a 1,500 sq ft gym, a sauna, a steam room and a dedicated physiotherapy unit for rehabilitation and recovery.
  • ACA and BCCI officials say the centre will allow uninterrupted, structured training for local players and boost Assam’s talent pathway by aligning regional infrastructure with national coaching and sports science standards.
