Abu Dhabi Approves AED42 Billion Expansion of Liveability Strategy to Speed Neighborhood Upgrades

The move deepens a parallel push to embed AI across government services under a funded 2025–2027 digital strategy.

Overview

  • Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed chaired the Executive Council and approved the expansion, directing faster delivery of residential infrastructure.
  • Initial results showed average neighborhood integration rising to 81% in 2025 from 67% before the strategy launched in 2023.
  • More than 60 projects worth AED12 billion delivered over 200 parks and sports courts, 24 schools, 21 mosques, 28 community majlises, plus extensive paths, cycling tracks and street lighting.
  • The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025–2027 is backed by AED13 billion to position the emirate as the world’s top-ranked AI-powered government by 2027.
  • Plans include launching TAMM 4.0 at GITEX Global 2025, expanding AI Majalis outreach, reporting over 95% completion of workforce AI training, and creating Chief Digital and AI Officer roles across entities.
