Abode, a DIY smart home and security company, has launched a new smart lock with a retrofit design that works with any latch-style deadbolt and doesn't require changes to the door hardware.
The Abode Lock lacks support for Apple's HomeKit, instead opting for Amazon Alexa and Google Home support.
The lock is priced at $129.99 and includes a separate keypad that offers access via fingerprint recognition or a PIN code.
The lock supports up to 10 unique users, each with 5 fingerprint registrations for a total of 50 unique fingerprints for authorized access.
The Abode Lock has a large 4,000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that the company says will last up to 12 months with average use.
