Abigail Breslin Discusses Backlash Over Breakup Song

Actress received death threats and hate messages following the release of 'You Suck', a song about her ex-boyfriend Michael Clifford.

Actress Abigail Breslin recently discussed the backlash she received after releasing her 2014 breakup song 'You Suck' about ex-boyfriend and 5 Seconds of Summer band member Michael Clifford.
Breslin revealed that she received death threats and hate messages online, with some people even showing up outside her apartment.
She admitted that the song, which was written when she was 17, was 'not great' and the period surrounding the breakup was 'traumatising' for her.
Clifford addressed the song on Twitter, stating that he didn't find it funny, which further fuelled the backlash against Breslin.
Breslin, who now performs under the name Sophomore, has since released a number of songs and married Ira Kunyansky in 2023.
