ABC News Studios Secures U.S. Streaming for ‘Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery’

The film will debut on Hulu and Disney+ on September 21 to coincide with Sarah McLachlan’s first studio album in more than a decade

  • ABC News Studios acquired U.S. streaming rights to the Ally Pankiw–directed documentary following its world premiere at TIFF on September 17
  • CBC will broadcast the film as part of its The Passionate Eye series before it streams on Hulu and Disney+ from September 21 in the United States
  • The documentary was commissioned by CBC and co-produced by Dan Levy’s Not a Real Production Company alongside Elevation Pictures and White Horse Pictures
  • Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery draws on over 600 hours of unseen archival footage and interviews with organizers, fans and artists including Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Erykah Badu, Bonnie Raitt, Jewel and Olivia Rodrigo
  • The streaming rollout is timed to align with McLachlan’s release of Better Broken on September 19 and a supporting Canadian concert tour
