- The ABC confirmed that Jacob Greber, its chief digital political correspondent, will replace Laura Tingle as the political editor on the nightly current affairs program 7.30.
- Laura Tingle, after six years leading 7.30’s political coverage, was named global affairs editor in early July to oversee the broadcaster’s international reporting.
- Greber joins from the ABC’s Parliament House bureau and brings almost 30 years of journalism experience, including stints at Bloomberg, straAustralian Financial Review and as the ABC’s Washington DC correspondent.
- In addition to his on-air role, Greber will continue writing for the ABC News website and app and feature on the Politics Now podcast and the weekly program Insiders.
- 7.30 is one of the ABC’s most watched programs, drawing an average nightly audience of 756,000 in the 2023-24 financial year.
