Pulling's closest rival, Doriane Pin of Mercedes, would need to win all three races, secure pole positions, and fastest laps, while Pulling would need to score no points for Pin to take the title.
The decision has drawn criticism from fans, as Pulling had already celebrated her championship victory with her team and sponsors.
The F1 Academy, an all-female series aimed at developing female racing talent, defended the decision, citing the importance of maximizing track time for driver growth.
