Aaron Pierre has been cast as John Stewart, one of DC's iconic Green Lanterns, in the upcoming HBO series 'Lanterns.'
The series will follow Stewart and Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, as intergalactic cops investigating a murder in the American heartland.
Pierre described his preparation for the role as 'extensive' and emphasized his commitment to honoring the character and the Green Lantern Corps.
'Lanterns' is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, with James Hawes directing the first two episodes.
The series is part of the new DC Universe overseen by James Gunn and is expected to air around the same time as 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' in 2026.
