Aardman Animations, the studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, reassures fans that despite the closure of its clay supplier, Newclay Products, it has sufficient clay stocks for current and future productions.
The studio has been planning for this situation and is working on a smooth transition to new clay stocks.
Aardman Animations had bought up the remaining stock of the unique clay, known as Lewis Newplast, from Newclay Products before it closed down.
The clay is unique because it’s malleable enough to mold and firm enough to maintain its shape under the heat of studio lights.
Aardman's next film, Chicken Run: Dawn Of The Nugget, premieres on Netflix on December 15, and a new Wallace And Gromit movie is slated for 2024.
