AAP Retains Punjab’s Tarn Taran Seat as Harmeet Singh Sandhu Wins by 12,091 Votes

The outcome extends the ruling party’s run of six wins in seven Punjab bypolls since 2022.

Overview

  • AAP’s Harmeet Singh Sandhu finished with 42,649 votes to SAD’s Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa’s 30,558 after 16 rounds; Waris Punjab De–backed independent Mandeep Singh Khalsa placed third with 19,620.
  • Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj came fourth with 15,078 votes and BJP’s Harjit Singh Sandhu fifth with 6,239, with both parties forfeiting their deposits.
