Overview
- Autobahn GmbH will fully close the A8 between Mühlhausen im Täle and Merklingen toward Munich from Oct. 17, 21:00 to Oct. 20, 05:00 and again from Oct. 31, 21:00 to Nov. 3, 05:00.
- The works bundle a winter maintenance package: resurfacing about nine kilometers and inspecting and repairing multiple bridges, wearing courses and guardrails.
- Long‑distance traffic is routed from the Weinsberg interchange via the A6 and A7 back to the A8 toward Munich or onward on the A7 toward Füssen.
- Regional traffic is diverted from Wendlingen via the B313 and B10 to A8 Ulm‑West, with local routes via the B466/B10 (U29) and the L1230 around Merklingen.
- The Stuttgart direction remains open, detours were coordinated with police and emergency services, and drivers are asked to avoid shortcuts by disabling navigation and to note the longer‑term plan for a new 7.6 km Albaufstieg alignment with tunnels and bridges.
