Overview
- Autobahn GmbH will fully close the A59 between Autobahndreieck Düsseldorf‑Süd and Monheim for roughly eight months, beginning Oct. 15 at 21:00 with an initial shutdown to Richrath and extension to Monheim from Oct. 20.
- The first construction phase targets the carriageway toward Leverkusen, with the opposite direction to follow, due to extensive needs including concrete slab removal, bridge rehabilitation and drainage renewal.
- Authorities have prepared two diversion concepts: long‑distance reroutes via A46–A3–A542 or A46–A57–A1 back to the A59, plus a signed local route for nearby traffic.
- Preparatory measures are already in place, including diversion signage, demand‑controlled signals and temporary traffic patterns that may cause intermittent congestion.
- At Duisburg’s Kreuz Kaiserberg, the A40 will be fully closed Oct. 17–20 for bridge dismantling, and the A3 will be closed in both directions Nov. 7–17 between Oberhausen‑West and Breitscheid, with several interchange ramps remaining restricted into 2027.
