Overview
- The A52 between the Neersen and Kaarst interchanges is fully closed in the direction of Düsseldorf from Friday evening, 25 September, until 1 October morning for roadworks.
- Autobahn GmbH is replacing about 115,000 square metres of pavement using a compact-asphalt method that lays binder and surface layers at the same time to shorten on-site work.
- The directional closure affects the Kaarst‑Nord and Schiefbahn junctions and follows earlier access limits, with the Schiefbahn ramp closed from Friday afternoon and the Cloerbruch Süd service-area access blocked since 24 September.
- Traffic is being diverted via the A44 to Kreuz Meerbusch and then the A57 to Kreuz Kaarst, and those detours will face added disruption because the A44→A57 ramps at Meerbusch are scheduled to close from 1 October to 15 November.
- The A52 work coincides with a separate full closure at Kreuz Kaiserberg for a multi-year upgrade of 1960s-era junctions that handle heavy traffic, so commuters should expect longer travel times, follow signed detours, and consider earlier or alternate departure plans.
