Overview

• The full closure runs from Friday, 29 August at 20:00 until Monday, 1 September at 05:00.
• In the Dortmund direction, the A46 is shut from after the exit to the L418 at Wuppertal-Cronenberg toward Wuppertal-Ronsdorf up to the Wuppertal-Sonnborn interchange.
• In the Düsseldorf direction, the motorway is closed between Wuppertal-Sonnborn and Haan-Ost, and the L418-to-A46 ramp toward Düsseldorf is also blocked.
• Signed detours route local traffic via L418 and B7, with long-distance diversions over A3, A1, A40 and A52; motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow the posted guidance.
• The works involve dismantling a support structure to enable a new bridge over the A46 on a corridor carrying roughly 90,000 vehicles per day, so delays are likely.
