Overview

• Dorset Police reported a two-vehicle collision at about 9:53am on 2 September on the A35 at Kingston Russell involving a grey Mercedes Benz and a black Volkswagen Golf.
• A 74-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman from the Volkswagen were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the Mercedes driver’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
• Fire crews from Bridport and Dorchester used hydraulic cutting equipment to release three casualties, and all were transported by South Western Ambulance Service.
• The A35 was closed for hours between Monkeys Jump roundabout in Dorchester and the East Road roundabout in Bridport due to an oil spillage and a police investigation, causing heavy local disruption.
