Overview
- Autobahn GmbH will fully close about 10 kilometers of the A24 toward Hamburg from 25 September to 8 November to add an asphalt wearing course over failing concrete.
- Officials cite alkali–silica reaction as the cause of rapid pavement decay, with spalling and fragment loss creating safety risks.
- During the A24 works, Hamburg‑bound vehicles will be routed as a single lane onto the opposite carriageway along the Berlin–Hamburg direction.
- On the A44 between Meerbusch and Düsseldorf, traffic toward Mönchengladbach will be stopped from 22 September 22:00 to 29 September 05:00, with long‑distance detours via the A44, A3, A46 and A57 and phased closures at the Lank‑Latum ramp.
- A second A44 shutdown runs 21–28 October in the Velbert direction from Kreuz Meerbusch, with diversions via the A57, A46 and A3 and works covering bridge surfaces and two tunnels.
