Overview

• Night maintenance on the A2 toward Oberhausen between Gladbeck-Ellinghorst and Dreieck Bottrop could not be completed after the asphalt mixing plant failed.
• About 200 meters of milled roadway remain unpaved and unreleasable, so traffic is limited to one lane for the entire Wednesday, according to Autobahn GmbH.
• WDR reported queues of roughly nine to more than ten kilometers with around 20 minutes of additional delay in the morning commute.
• Police closed the on-ramps Herten, Gelsenkirchen-Buer, Essen-Gladbeck and Gladbeck-Ellinghorst, with closures in place at least until 19:00.
• An emergency replacement mixing unit has been arranged but is stuck in the congestion, and drivers are advised to avoid the stretch if possible.
