Overview

• The A17 tunnels Coschütz, Dölzschen, and Altfranken will close for scheduled maintenance and safety upgrades from May 16 to 25 in multiple phases.
• Closures are planned in three periods: May 16, 22:00 to May 18, 20:00; nightly from May 19 to 23, 20:00 to 05:00; and May 23, 22:00 to May 25, 20:00.
• Upgrades include fire detection system replacements and other safety-critical maintenance to enhance tunnel resilience.
• Traffic will be diverted via U15 and U16 routes, with efforts made to minimize congestion by scheduling work during low-traffic periods.
• A 60 km/h speed limit will remain in place due to ongoing infrastructure repairs and supply chain delays affecting safety systems.
