99Food Ramps Up Brazil Expansion With R$2 Billion Push and New City Launches

A pledged R$2 billion bankrolls a tech-driven push that pairs courier bonuses with price promotions to accelerate rollout.

Overview

  • The DiDi-owned service now operates in Goiânia, Rio de Janeiro and its metro, São Paulo and several SP municipalities, and recently added Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Campinas and Curitiba.
  • Company targets include reaching 20 cities by January 2026 and at least 100 municipalities by mid-2026.
  • Proprietary logistics underpin the rollout, including motorcycle-optimized maps, faster courier–order matching, preparation-time forecasts and more than 50 safety and fraud checks.
  • Courier incentives include a R$250 daily payout for completing 20 trips on the 99 app with at least five food deliveries, alongside consumer promotions such as R$99 in coupons and free deliveries on early orders.
  • As part of a broader super-app strategy, 99 says 99Moto returns to São Paulo on December 11 to sit alongside mobility, payments and delivery services.
