92-Year-Old Man Charged in UK's Oldest Cold Case Murder

Ryland Headley has been accused of the 1967 rape and murder of Louisa Dunne following a forensic breakthrough in the decades-old investigation.

Louisa Dunne, 75, was found dead in her Bristol home in June 1967, with her cause of death recorded as strangulation and asphyxiation.
Ryland Headley, 92, of Ipswich, was arrested and charged after Avon and Somerset Police reopened the case in 2023 for further forensic analysis.
This marks the oldest cold case arrest in the history of the Avon and Somerset Police force, nearly 60 years after the crime occurred.
Headley appeared in court via video link and was remanded in custody, with a trial date set for June 2025 and a plea hearing scheduled for February 2025.
