911 Call and License-Plate Data Lead to Arrest in Pasadena Double Homicide

Police say the recording captured pleas over a money dispute before gunfire.

Overview

  • William Charles Hayes, 56, and Jeanna Loraine Hayes, 54, were found fatally shot in their Twickenham Road home on Sunday and were pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Charging documents say a 911 call recorded Jeanna Hayes pleading with someone she called “Tony,” an argument over money with “Charlie,” and then multiple gunshots.
  • Police identified 61-year-old Anthony Louis Reyes of Nottingham as the suspect, located his vehicle in Severn, and arrested him after a brief chase that ended on I-97 near Quarterfield Road.
  • A witness told police Reyes admitted the shootings and provided his license plate, and investigators used the Real Time Information Center and automated license plate readers to find him.
  • Reyes faces two counts each of first- and second-degree murder and assault, is being held without bond, and investigators have not recovered a weapon as they continue to seek tips.
