91-Year-Old Motorist Kills Pedestrian and Injures Two After Losing Control in Wantirna South

Police have appealed for dashcam footage to aid their investigation into how the car traversed about 200 metres after veering onto the footpath.

  • Three pedestrians—a 59-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man and a two-year-old boy—were struck when the car mounted the footpath on Coleman Road.
  • The woman died at the scene, the man remains in critical condition and the toddler’s condition has been upgraded to stable.
  • The vehicle traveled about 200 metres after the initial impact, colliding with a street sign and breaking through a fence before stopping near a playground.
  • Paramedics from Ambulance Victoria arrived within minutes and the driver was taken to hospital for medical assessment and blood testing.
  • Authorities have not yet interviewed the 91-year-old driver and are urging anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
