8BitDo Unveils Arcade Controller Pro With Onboard Screen and Hot‑Swappable Switches

Putting remapping, SOCD settings and battery info on the device is meant to speed setup for competitive players and reduce reliance on companion software.

Overview

  • 8BitDo announced the Arcade Controller Pro on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, as an iterative update to its leverless all-button fight pad that it will show at EVO 2026 in Las Vegas.
  • The Pro adds a small monochrome display that shows button presses, battery level, lighting and lets users remap inputs and adjust SOCD without using the Ultimate Software V2 app.
  • The chassis is thinner at 16mm and the layout is more compact with a new programmable P5 input and a repositioned P4 to improve finger placement for Hitbox-style play.
  • Each button uses 8BitDo Core Green low-profile linear mechanical switches co-developed with Kailh that are hot-swappable, and the controller includes lock caps, a magnetic wrist rest and extra RGB accents.
  • The Pro supports Switch, Switch 2 and PC over Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless or wired use with a Cosmox-inspired cable lock, offers about 15 hours of battery life per 8BitDo, and has no confirmed price or ship date yet.
