Overview

• Authorities say the collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Smiths Creek Road west of Burns Road in St. Clair County, Michigan.
• A 79-year-old man was driving a tractor pulling a trailer with five passengers when a Buick Regal driven by a 44-year-old man struck it from behind.
• The tractor driver was hospitalized in critical condition, and the Buick driver was treated for minor injuries.
• Other hospitalized passengers include a 77-year-old woman with serious injuries and three others with minor injuries: a 67-year-old woman from St. Clair Shores, a 62-year-old woman from Kimball Township, and a 54-year-old man from Kimball Township.
• One passenger, an 85-year-old Kimball Township woman, died from her injuries, and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing with no findings of fault or charges announced.
