Overview

• The crash occurred Saturday evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Archer Avenue, near Midway Airport in Chicago.
• An eastbound silver vehicle, driven by a 26-year-old man, collided with a westbound grey sedan driven by a 63-year-old man while attempting a left turn.
• The silver vehicle struck 84-year-old pedestrian Maria Ochoa Flores, who was later pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
• The 26-year-old driver of the silver vehicle has been issued citations, while no other injuries were reported from the incident.
• The crash is under investigation by Area detectives and the Chicago Police Department's Major Accident unit to determine the circumstances leading to the fatality.
