Police Report 81 M60 Hard-Shoulder Offenders as UK Motorway Crashes Cause Delays

Officials say hard-shoulder misuse hindered emergency access during an earlier M60 closure.

  • Traffic on the M61 southbound was brought to a standstill for a welfare incident near Farnworth, with a woman taken to hospital, and a separate breakdown was removed shortly afterward.
  • An Arriva X12 bus was involved in a collision on the A66 near Middlesbrough; Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service reported no injuries or arrests, and one patient was assessed and discharged at the scene.
