80-Foot Norway Spruce Selected as 2023 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree; Lighting Ceremony Set for November 29
Handpicked by longtime head gardener Erik Pauze, the tree from Vestal, New York will be cut on November 9, arrive at the Center Plaza on November 11 and stay on display until January 13, 2024.
- The 80-foot tall Norway Spruce chosen for the 2023 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was scouted out by longtime head gardener Erik Pauze in Vestal, New York, a Binghamton-area location approximately 190 miles northwest of New York City.
- The chosen tree weighs 12 tons and will be transported to the Center Plaza on November 11, after being cut down on November 9.
- Following its arrival, the tree will be wrapped in over 50,000 lights and topped with a Swarovski star, in preparation for the lighting ceremony scheduled for November 29.
- The tree will remain on display until January 13, 2024, continuing Rockefeller Center's tradition of serving as a popular holiday attraction for New York City residents and visitors.
- This year's tree selection process is a continuation of the 30-year tradition of Erik Pauze, who is integral in finding, caring for, and transporting the famed Christmas tree each year.
