Overview
- The 80-foot tall Norway Spruce chosen for the 2023 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was scouted out by longtime head gardener Erik Pauze in Vestal, New York, a Binghamton-area location approximately 190 miles northwest of New York City.
- The chosen tree weighs 12 tons and will be transported to the Center Plaza on November 11, after being cut down on November 9.
- Following its arrival, the tree will be wrapped in over 50,000 lights and topped with a Swarovski star, in preparation for the lighting ceremony scheduled for November 29.
- The tree will remain on display until January 13, 2024, continuing Rockefeller Center's tradition of serving as a popular holiday attraction for New York City residents and visitors.
- This year's tree selection process is a continuation of the 30-year tradition of Erik Pauze, who is integral in finding, caring for, and transporting the famed Christmas tree each year.
