8-year-old Zachariah Bannister was shot in the head while viewing Christmas lights with his family in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The family was delivering food for DoorDash at the time of the incident.
The suspected shooter, 30-year-old Jullian Phillips, has been arrested and charged with shooting with intent to kill.
Phillips, who reportedly has no ties to the family, is suspected of mistaking the boy's identity.
Zachariah remains in the ICU with a fractured skull and a blood clot near the fracture.
