75-Year-Old Woman Killed by 94-Year-Old Driver in New Jersey Library Parking Lot

The victim, identified as Helen Koons, was hit and dragged 20 feet by a car while walking near a crosswalk.

Helen Koons, a 75-year-old resident of Paramus, New Jersey, died after being hit by a car and dragged 20 feet in a library parking lot.
The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the Paramus Public Library.
A 94-year-old woman from Paramus was identified as the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. She was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and careless driving.
Koons was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with severe injuries and was semi-alert upon arrival. She passed away shortly before noon the next day.
This fatal crash is the second incident involving an elderly driver in northern New Jersey over a three-day period.
